Dr. Luis Sierraalta is a Miami-based physician, entrepreneur, and pharmaceutical executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing sectors. Renowned for his strategic vision and ability to build high-impact organizations, he has dedicated his career to advancing pharmaceutical accessibility, innovation, and healthcare modernization throughout the Americas.
He holds a medical degree and has strengthened his executive expertise through two MBAs in management, marketing, and finance, as well as advanced studies in Leadership and Innovation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Additionally, he earned a Master of Science in Nursing, broadening his understanding of integrated patient care. This unique combination of clinical knowledge and business capability positions him to lead complex organizations in highly regulated and evolving markets.
Dr. Sierraalta began his medical career practicing Emergency Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology before transitioning into the pharmaceutical industry in 2002. His corporate trajectory includes influential roles in commercial strategy, product development, and regional expansion for global leaders such as Novartis and Bayer.
In 2010, he co-founded Laboratorios Remeny, establishing a strong footprint in the Latin American pharmaceutical landscape. Building on this foundation, he went on to create multiple pharmaceutical companies across the region, including Fabrica tu Medicamento in Florida—an advisory and consulting firm specializing in pharmaceutical business development and tender strategy throughout Latin America.
Continuing this entrepreneurial momentum, in 2015 he founded Hoop Pharma, a U.S.-based pharmaceutical manufacturing company headquartered in Florida. Today, Hoop Pharma focuses on producing and distributing high-quality medications with a commitment to innovation, regulatory integrity, operational excellence, and expanded patient access.
As CEO and founder, Dr. Sierraalta leads with a philosophy grounded in clinical insight, entrepreneurial strategy, and technological advancement. His work continues to drive ethical manufacturing practices, scientific progress, and enduring partnerships across the Americas.
